We kicked off our US History tour with a visit to Saint George, Utah during "Liberty Week." A mobile museum of American artifacts was on display and we got to see a lot of history, both admirable and shameful. Our favorite item was a real draft of the Declaration of Independence written in Thomas Jefferson's own hand. He had scratched out words and phrases and added in others between lines and in the margins. It was a true illustration of how messy it was to declare our independence from England.
